SSH troubleshooting

Permission denied, timeouts, and the “host identification has changed” warning.

Permission denied (publickey)

• Use the key you gave us: ssh -i ~/.ssh/id_ed25519 -p 2201 dev@k7p2x9.runmac.dev.
• The user is dev, not your own username.
• Just paid, reset, or changed the key? Allow up to 5 minutes for it to reach the Mac.

REMOTE HOST IDENTIFICATION HAS CHANGED

Expected after a reset: the Mac was rebuilt and has a new fingerprint. Remove the old one and connect again:

ssh-keygen -R "[k7p2x9.runmac.dev]:2201"

Timed out or connection refused

• Check runmac.dev/status and your Mac’s health on its page.
• Try the fallback route under If the direct address doesn’t answer on your Mac’s page. It needs cloudflared (brew install cloudflared) and uses the same key and user.
• Still stuck? Press Reboot, wait 5 minutes, then send us a message.
