Build a Unity game for iOS
Install Unity with iOS support on your Mac, generate the Xcode project, then build it in Xcode.
Unity builds for iOS in two steps: Unity generates an Xcode project, then Xcode builds the app. Unity’s documentation notes local iOS builds need macOS, because Xcode only runs on a Mac. That’s your RunMac.
- Install Xcode first: Install Xcode and simulators.
- On the desktop (Screen Sharing), install Unity Hub from unity.com/download, then the Unity Editor version your project uses.
- Get your project onto the Mac (git clone) and open it in Unity.
- Choose File → Build Profiles, then Add Build Profile, select iOS (if it isn’t available, choose Install with Unity Hub), Add Build Profile, then Switch Profile.
- Choose Build and pick a folder. Unity writes the Xcode project there.
- Open the generated project in Xcode, set your team under Signing & Capabilities, and run it in the simulator or archive and upload it.
